Although a small festival, Karthigai deepam is one of my favourite days in a year. A festival which can be seen in its full glory only in Tamil Nadu. Beautiful evenings made more beautiful my lots of small oil-lit lamps strewn all over the streets. Having spent the past 3 years in Hyderabad, where this festival is almost non-existent, this year the evenings are more beautiful. :-)
Went to Thuppakki today, with my girl. If it’s not for her, I would’ve never considered going to a Vijay movie. :-)
Personally being a Vijay basher, I did not have much expectations. But the movie was the director’s more than the actor’s. Limited but enough mass from Vijay. He could improve on his dialogue delivery while speaking English. He manages Hindi very well, surprisingly.
Kajal Agarwal is useless in the movie. Overacting and trying to look cute. But she doesn’t succeed. She looks damn hot though :-P
Camera work was great. One special person needs a mention here: Harris Jeyaraj. He dishes out crap after crap in every other movie. Music is horrendous and the background score stinks more than garbage, to say the least. No improvement for him.
Barring the music, a very good movie. For non Vijay fans too. ARM could’ve managed without lifting that famous dialogue from ‘Taken’ though: ‘I don’t know who you’re, but I’ll find you and kill you’.
So India and England face off again, this time in India. Looking forward to see Pujara performing at the top level. Fingers crossed.
Ok.. So I created this tumblr account long back. But I didn’t log in back again. On the suggestion of a friend, I’ll be posting here from now on, even if nobody is going to read the posts. It takes time to get popular, you know :-P
